Russia does not rule out creation of own space station like Mir, said Alexander Yakovenko, official spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry. As regards reasons for sinking the Mir orbiter, he said that a great role here was played by economic rather than only political aspects. Now "Russia has no money for unfolding own programme of manned orbital flights", said Alexander Yakovenko. If financing of the space sector turns for the better, we can talk of also development of own orbital-station programme, said the official spokesman of the Russian foreign policy establishment. In the meantime, at the present moment Russia should most intensively develop cooperation with the United States and European countries for creating the International Space Station and doing joint work on it board, RIA Novosti reports. "We all are in want of interaction for conduct of serious space exploration work", concluded Alexander Yakovenko.
