A new film is being shot in the Black See resort of Gelenjik aimed to revive the glory of the Russian Army. It is for the first time over the last decade that a film is commissioned by the state. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin comes out as the film’s chief consultant. It is planned as a serial starring Fyodor Bondarchuk, according to IMA-Press. Producer Tigran Keosayan says he intends to make a film which would return erstwhile respect to the army. In other words, it is not going to be a jeremiad of a “Russia that we lost.”
