ISRAELI SOLDIERS ATTACK DR.HANAN ASHRAWI IN PALESTINIAN WOMEN’S PEACE MARCH

The influential Palestinian figure, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi was taking part in a march of unarmed Palestinian women today in Ramallah when she and the other women in the march were attacked by Israeli soldiers. Four women were hurt in the incident. Dr. Hashrawi said that the Israeli troops fired stun grenades at the women, “and what is worse, directly at us”. She said she could not understand or condone such behaviour by heavily armed troops, when all the women were doing was marching peacefully. She said Palestinian women are tired of seeing their men killed and that they were demonstrating for peace in an ordered manner.
