Poll: Most Russians approve participation of women in politics

The respondents were asked which of the two following opinions they agreed with: "Women should take an active part in political life” or "Politics is not a woman's affair." The majority of Russians (56%) "agreed" with the first opinion. However, one-third of those surveyed (35%) agreed with the second opinion, that policy is not for women. Among men, the second opinion is held by 41%, while among women, by only 30%. 1500 respondents took part in the poll, conducted March, 3 by the Public Opinion Foundation among urban and rural populations of Russia.
