Tests of new missile complex for land forces Iskander-E will be over this year in Russia. According to experts, it 5-8 times excels all the up-to-date Russian and foreign complexes of this type in criterion of “value-effectiveness”. According to the Nickolay Gushin, General Director of the Kolomensky Mechanical Engineering Office, which constructed the complex, it is aimed to strike missile complexes, objectives of anti-missile and air-raid defence systems, aircraft and control centres. The launching mass of the missile is 3,800 kg. The range of the missile can amount to 280 km, Prime-Tass reports. The first specimen of the new complex will be demonstrated at International Aerospace Salon which will take place in Moscow in summer 2001.
