A home-made bomb hurt yesterday a student of the Russian Chemistry-and-Technology University in Moscow, the city police said. A first-year student brought with him a self-made bomb wrapped in paper. He then tried to unwrap it in the toilet, and it went off in his hands. As a result, the student had his left hand partly torn off and was hospitalized. According to NTV television channel, the classes were not interrupted by the incident. The unlucky “sapper” told the police that he had found the packet as long ago as in December last year, but he would not say where.
