India gets for its army the best tanks in the world, Russian Vice-Premier Ilya Klebanov commented on the contract on the delivery of 310 Russian-made tanks T-90C to India, signed today by Moscow and Deli. The signatories to the document were Indian Defence Minister George Fernandes and Russian Vice-PM Ilya Klebanov. The sides agreed to sell the world's most updated tanks to India during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India in early October last year. The parties signed the corresponding agreement at that time, RIA Novosti announces. Some 124 tanks will be supplied assembled, while the remainder are to be semi-assembled or to be assembled at the hardware plant in Avadi, in the southern state of Tamilnad.
