General Prosecutor of Geneva Bernard Bertossa has brought a new charge against State Secretary of the Russian-Belarussian Union Pavel Borodin apprehended in New York on an international warrant. New facts revealed about the case of Borodin, former Chief of Boris Yeltsin's staff, give more foot for thought, said Bertossa in his interview with the Swiss magazine L'Hebdo. In particular, those facts concern the role Borodin played in the reconstruction of a presidential plane in Switzerland, he said. Besides, the circle of the suspects related to the Borodin case has "widened". Some Russian citizens and foreigners who had been working in Moscow for a long time appeared to have something to do with the case, Bertossa said, RIA Novosti announces. Last week, Swiss investigators asked Russia for legal help in connection with the "new evidence" received, the prosecutor said. Pavel Borodin is known to have been detained at the airport of New York on January 18 at the request of the Swiss Prosecutor General's Office.
