The space location of the Russian orbital station Mir has failed to get stabilized so far, spokesmen for the Space Flight Control Centre say. The station should be positioned so as to allow a cargo spacecraft carrying fuel to dock to the station. According to RIA Novosti, this fuel-carrier is due to be launched on January 21. The point is that the Mir station is maintained in the orbit using special devices which consume vast power resources. However, problems in Mir batteries prevent solar arrays from accumulating power continuously, experts say. They, however, do not give up hope the batteries will be properly recharged later today.
