The Public Prosecutor's Office has opened a criminal case to investigate the kidnapping of U.S. citizen Kenneth Gluck. This was disclosed by an official from the Staff of Russian Presidential Aide Sergei Yastrzhembski. The Staff does not have at the time any information about the names of the bandit warlords who were behind the kidnapping of the U.S. citizen. No information has been provided on the whereabouts of the head of Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres) Mission. Prior to it the Commander of the Combined Group of Forces in Chechnya, Lieutenant-General Valeri Baranov, reported that bandits from Ramzan Akhmadov's gang were suspected of the kidnapping. This gang had been in this criminal business for a rather long time. The police were following in their footsteps in Georgia when the bandits abducted OSCE representatives, RIA Novosti cited the General as saying. It will be recalled that Chechen militants fired at the car of Kenneth Gluck and took him prisoner on Tuesday.
