3,000 complaints from Russia’s citizens have been lodged with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasburg, 40 of which being accepted for consideration. Vladimir Kartashkin, chairman of the Kremlin’s Human Rights Commission, cited these figures yesterday in Moscow at the new conference devoted to the Human Rights Day observed on December 10th all over the world. According to Mr. Kartashkin, the opportunity to apply to the European court testifies to the improving of the human rights situation in Russia.
