OLDEST WOMAN LIVES IN VORONEZH REGION, NOT IN ENGLAND

Maria Fefelova, resident of the Ozerki village in the Voronezh Region, seems to have beaten the world record of longevity. In her passport, the year 1995 is indicated as the date of her birth. So far, British citizen Eva Pickles, born on June 20th, 1891, has been deemed the world’s oldest woman. However, Mrs. Fefelova appears to be even older, by the whole of 6 years. When she was born, her village belonged to the Kursk Province, and it was under tsar Alexander III. Now, the village is situated at the frontier of two regions, Voronezh’s and Belgorod’s which may be contesting for the fame. Over her long life, granny Masha has worked for a gentleman and for Stalin. As a result, she now gets pension at the amount of as little as 420 roubles per month.
