a new law on political parties will pose no threat of political conservation in Russia

Head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Alexander Veshnyakov does not share a viewpoint that the adoption of a new law on political parties will lead to a two-party system in Russia. In a conversation with journalists, Veshnyakov noted that according to preliminary forecasts, the number of political parties would reduce from 176 political organizations existing now to 18-20 ones, RBC reports. Thus, he stressed that the law, initiated by the CEC and Duma factions, would pose no threat of political conservation in Russia.
