Speaking at the 5th congress of judges, President Vladimir Punin summed up the court reform, carried out in Russia. “There is independent judicial authority in the state” – he said and stressed that there are constitutional court and courts in regions now. According to Putin, “restoration of judicial authority in Chechnya is a the main evidence of changes for best in the republic”. At the same time the President noted the weak points of Russian Themis. “The general effect of the courts functioning is often negative” – said the president.
