“Drang nach Osten” by means of Lithuania

One can regard NATO Parliamentary Assembly decision concerning Lithuania as a reply to Putin’s call to fortify armed forces. NATO leaders, gathered in Berlin, noted in a special resolution that Lithuania would became a member of the North-Atlantic Treaty Organisation soon. The resolution says that in 2002 such states as Slovakia, Slovenia and Lithuania will be invited to NATO bloc, RBC reports. Poland and USA maintained in every way the Lithuania striving for entering NATO. Thus Lithuania, brought an action of 20 milliard dollars against Russia for the “damage caused by Soviet occupation”, enlisted a moral support. It can come to military support tin the future.
