Despite the Russian Cabinet's decision to sink the Mir space station in the ocean next year, 40.9% of Russian citizens believe the government should find the money to keep it in orbit, according to a recent poll. Another 20.8% feel financing could be ensured from budget allocations, while only 20.4% regard the station as obsolete and subject to destruction. A total of 17.9% were undecided, The Associated Press announces. The data has been released by the independent center Russian Public Opinion and Market Research (ROMIR - Gallup International) following a nationwide poll of 2,000 Russians adults carried out in mid November.
