Russia is expected to export $4 billion worth of weapons in 2000, general director of the Rosvooruzheniye state arms trader Alexei Ogaryov has told the press. Rosvooruzheniye will have handled $2.95 billion worth of the arms exports this year, he said. Rosvooruzheniye plans to implement three major arms export projects worth a total of $1.35 billion before the end of the year, Ogaryov noted. The portfolio of the company's foreign orders exceeds $10 billion, he said, adding that it may be increased to $13 billion-$14 billion, including through the signing of new contracts with India and other countries, gazeta.ru announces.
