German Ruhrgaz&E.ON Energie Wins Right to Buy 34% of Lithuania's Lietuvos dujos
The German Ruhrgazand and E.ON Enrergie concern came up winner in the ongoing competition for the purchasing of 34% of the Lithuanian Lietuvos dujos gas concern. This is according to Neriyus Eidukyavichus, the Minister of Economy of Lithuania, the coordinator of the concern's privatisation commission. The commission made this decision after it had considered the German concern's final offer taking into account its conformance to the requirements of the competition and technical and financial parameters and using the government-approved criteria as guidelines.
The Gazpromgas concern, Russia's largest, has applied to purchase another 34% of Lietuvos dujos. After these transactions have been completed, the Lithuanian government will own just 24% of Lietuvos dujos. These shares may be placed on the national stock exchange at a later time.
