The 11th session of ministers from the member countries of the Council of the Baltic Sea States will be held in Svetlogorsk, the Kaliningrad Region of Russia, on March 5 and 6. The session will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the council. Besides Igor Ivanov, the Foreign Minister of Russia, the session will be attended by his colleagues from Denmark, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden and Estonia. Other participants will include representatives from the Foreign Ministries of Germany and Norway, the European Union and European Commission. Also invited will be the heads of the regions in the Northwestern Federal District of Russia. Ex-Foreign Ministers of Germany and Denmark will attend the session as honourable guests. Expected to arrive is Mikhail Kasyanov, the Prime Minister of Russia. Russia's chairmanship in the council will continue till June 2002.
