During the five-day carnival in Rio de Janeiro, masks bearing the face of Osama Bin Laden outsold all the rest.
Bin Laden was the hero of the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, the masks costing an average of fifteen reais (7 USD) abounding. In all, 12,000 masks were sold this year around the city in preparation for the Carnival, a five-day celebration to mark the beginning of Lent and the end of winter.
The more expensive masks came complete with black beard and turban.
