A pilot was killed in a Tuesday helicopter crash in the Kamchatkan town of Ust-Bolsheretsk, Russia's Far East. According to the Far-Eastern Regional Center of the Russian emergencies ministry, the aircraft, a Mi-2 civil helicopter, crashed to the ground from a height of 5 meters immediately after takeoff from an air field in Ust-Bolsheretsk. The five passengers on board -- Kamchatrybvod fishing inspectors bound for a river patrol mission -- survived only because the helicopter did not explode after the crash.
