The head of the Sibirsky Alyuminy holding company, Oleg Deripaska, said that the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the APEC Business Summit in Shanghai was very competent from the point of view of a businessman. As Oleg Deripaska pointed out, he was very glad that Vladimir Putin paid attention to the pluses and minuses of globalisation. In the opinion of the head of the Siberian company, "the minus of this process is that the rich are becoming richer and the poor are becoming poorer." At the same time, he said, in order to use the advantages of globalisation "it is necessary to prepare for it the economy, private business and the system of the state management." Oleg Deripaska cited China as an example. It is expected to be admitted to the World Trade Organisation at the end of this year. Beijing planned this step from the beginning of the 1980s, because it wanted to prepare itself, to get advantageous terms and to wait for a favourable economic situation. "Now it has received all this," believes the Russian entrepreneur. In view of this, Moscow should not be in a hurry to enter the WTO, said the businessman. First of all, a great preparatory work should be done. The entry in the WTO now, in the near future will have an opposite effect, noted Deripaska. He is sure that as a result of this step Russia will fully lose the CIS market which, in his opinion, is more important for the country than any other foreign markets.
