Russia's Decision To Close Military Base At The Vietnamese Port Of Cam Ranh Was Agreed With Vietnam's Government - Vietnam's Foreign Ministry

The decision by the Russian leadership to close Russia's military base at Vietnam's Cam Ranh Bay is in line with the existing bilateral agreement and was agreed on during consultations between the two governments, the director of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry's Press and Information Department, Phan Thu Thanh, said on Thursday. "We are confident that the multisided cooperation between Vietnam and Russia will continue developing, as before, on the basis of years-long traditionally friendly relations," the spokesman for Vietnam's Foreign Ministry emphasized. She pointed out that Vietnam will use the port of Cam Ranh for the country's optimum and active social and economic development.
