The State Duma passed the bill on amendments to the Criminal Code and the Criminal Proceedings Code of Russia on the second and third readings today. The bill provides for new sanctions for illegal use of a trademark by a group of persons in agreement or by an organized group, as follows: a fine equal to 400-800 minimum wages, or to a wage or other income for a period of 4-8 months, or 4-6 months under arrest, or imprisonment for up to 5 years. 346 deputies voted for this bill, no deputies voted against it or abstained from voting.
