Combining the posts of vice-premier and the minister of industry, science and technologies is due to the need to concentrate efforts on restructuring individual sectors of industry and consolidate the management of the military-industrial complex. Russian prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov said this upon arrival in Krasnodar (center of Krasnodar Territory in southern Russia) on Wednesday. In his words, this is also important for industries that have a large share of state property and need development programs. Mikhail Kasyanov recalled that vice-premier Ilya Klebanov, who will now become the minister, was earlier in charge of issues related to the military-industrial complex and was responsible for the work of four federal agencies in this sphere.
