German police broke up a meeting of Neo-Nazi fascists in Germany’s Brandenburg state. The result was violence which led to 58 arrests.
On the pretext of attending a private birthday party, the fascists, all young with shaved heads, were listening to extremist right-wing bands and were chanting slogans supporting Adolf Hitler.
The police were informed that the “party” was getting out of hand and that the music and chanting could be heard from outside the club where it was taking place. The skinheads refused to leave the club and resisted attempts to remove them with violence. Most of the 58 detained were known to the police, because they had been arrested on previous occasions.
The land of Brandenburg, surrounding Berlin ,in the former German Democratic Republic, is the state with the highest concentration of fascists in Germany.
