Us And Russian Trade Ministers Discussed Matters Related To Acknowledgement Of The Russian Economy Market Status

During his Moscow meeting with Donald Evans, US Secretary of Trade, German Gref, Russian minister of economic development and trade, discussed matters related to prospective acknowledgement by the American side of the market status of Russian economy. The United States commenced consideration of this issue two months earlier than the pre-determined date. Acknowledgement of Russia as a country with market economy is one of the key issues in Russian-American trade and economic relations. In case of acknowledgement of the market status of the Russian economy Russian exporters will have wider possibilities to make product deliveries to the American market, including metallurgical products. Presently the agreement was reached to settle all problems of steel trade between Russia and the USA within the framework of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The next meeting of OECD member-states to settle the global steel trade situation is planned for December this year.
