Russia Can Become Major Exporter Of Foodstuffs

Having a huge agricultural potential, Russia can become a major foodstuffs exporter, President Vladimir Putin said as addressing a gala devoted to Russia's Agribiz Worker's Day. He added, the quality of Russian food products is much higher than the foreign-made ones. This year, the country has reaped an abundant harvest, which is thanks to reform of the Russian economy at large and agriculture in particular. The market economy laws are starting to bear fruit in this economic area, the president said emphatically. There is yet a lot to be done to improve countrymen's life, said the president. Vladimir Putin then deemed it necessary to start raising funds for implementing a governmental programme aimed at raising living standards in the villages.
