Over the past 24 hours law-enforcers in Chechnya found and deactivated fourteen home-made explosive devices and three land mines, the provisional press centre of the Interior Ministry of Russia reported on Friday. Of the 14 explosive devices, 10 were planted near interim police outposts. Reconnaissance groups removed three land mines on the routes of the movement of police columns and of cars of the personnel of interim Interior departments. According to officials of the provisional press centre, the situation in the republic remains complex but is under control. Illegal armed formations have become more active in the past few days. Militants have been sparing no effort to somehow coordinate the separate actions of numerous bandit groups.
