The Moscow International Business Association has attracted $3 billion of investment over 4 years of its existence, according to Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov. He said this while greeting the participants in the 4th International Investment Forum "Moscow-Invest 2001" that started Thursday in Berlin. According to Luzhkov, Germany has always played a paramount role in strengthening trade-economic and investment ties with Russia. He said that partnership treaties had been signed between 70 Russian and German cities and cooperation agreements signed between 14 German Lands and 15 regions of the Russian Federation. Luzhkov thinks that these ties not only promote expansion of comprehensive economic, scientific, and investment cooperation, but also create an "atmosphere of trust", which is the main when one deals with business and investment, the Moscow mayor emphasized.
