Two dress-making enterprises were launched in Grozny Saturday on a turn-key basis in addition to an assortment of cafes, hairdressing salons, photographers' studios, watchmakers' and other shops, and other consumer service enterprises functioning in the republic's capital, reported Alla Vlazneva, press secretary with the Chechen government. Other consumer services recently launched in Grozny include the state-owned unitary enterprise Remstroibyt, a dry cleaner's, a central bath-house, several cafes and various workshops. Signs of normal civilian life can be seen in other parts of Chechnya. Multi-profile consumer service enterprises have opened in the Urus-Martan and Achkhoi-Martan districts. A dry-cleaning factory was launched in Gudermes. The republic's Consumer Services Committee has provided 1,500 people with jobs at enterprises. Revival of the service industry is also seen in the growing number of private companies, including automobile and household equipment service centres and public catering enterprises, Alla Vlazneva stressed.
