Over the past 24 hours, officers from Chechnya's provisional interior departments conducted 20 raids across the republic, seizing 28 oil-refining apparatuses and 18 pieces of small arms. In all, 25,500 people and more than 15,200 transport vehicles were checked and 517 administrative infringements disclosed. In the course of the raids, law enforcers seized 7 assault rifles, 7 pistols, a machine gun, a grenade launcher, 2 sporting guns, 4,188 cartridges of different calibre, 20 grenades and grenade-launcher rounds, 21 mines, and 0.4 kg of explosives. Apart from that, police destroyed 4 explosive devices.
