Russia is ready for any concessions to Ukraine if common political goals are at stake, Russian prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov said upon his arrival in Kiev Thursday. In an answer to RIA Novosti's question, he stressed that Moscow proceeded from common political targets--to establish truly brotherly relations. That is why, the premier noted, we adopt corresponding decisions in the gas area. At issue in part is extending the deadline for Ukraine's gas payments up to 12 years. The Russian prime minister noted that cooperation with Ukraine is of strategic significance for Russia. We expect the same attitude from Ukraine, he concluded.
