Today, a new appointment in the Moscow Butyrka prison became known. The new chief of Butyrka is colonel Vladimir Stupin. Ex-chief of Butyrka prison, Rafik Ibragimov moved up to another post in the system of Russian Justice Ministry. According to Deputy Minister of Justice Yuri Kalinin, the former chief of Butyrka is partly guilty for what has happened recently in the prison (series of escapes), though it would be unjust to say he was responsible for everything. The new head of the prison, Vladimir Stupin, has a good service record, in particular he headed the Balashov prison in the Saratov region for seven years.
