Russia To Deploy Mobile Missile Attack Warning Stations - 3 October, 2001 - News

Soon Russia will deploy mobile missile attack warning stations (MAWS), said colonel general Anatoly Perminov, Space Forces Commander. According to him, after they go into service, Russia will be able to quit the use of expensive and energy-consuming stationary MAWS facilities deployed in Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. At the same time the general did not specify the timing of Russia's quitting stationary MAWS, but he let it know that this might happen in the near future.
