Russian Communications Minister Leonid Reiman and first deputy minister for industries, sciences and technologies Aleshin, on the side of Russia, and the leaders of the D 21 initiative society, on the side of Germany, signed a memorandum on partnership between Russia and Germany in the field of information and telecommunications technologies. This memorandum was signed within the framework of a visit of the Russian delegation headed by President Vladimir Putin to Germany. The D 21 Initiative is a non-for-profit association established in July 1999. It consists of 226 managers of leading companies, social institutions and political organizations. A source in the Russian Communications Ministry reported to RBC that Leonid Reiman also participated in a meeting of Baltic Ministers devoted to establishing an information society. This meeting was held at the end of September.
