Governor of the Moscow region Boris Gromov and President of the French company Achan Gerard Milier travelled to the Mytishchi district outside Moscow to launch construction of a hypermarket. The new trade center will be built just 1 km off the Moscow Automobile Ring Road, which is supposed to make it convenient for Muscovites and local residents alike. Occupying a sales area of 44,000 sq m, it will offer industrial goods as well as food commodities. Inauguration of the new hypermarket was roughly scheduled for mid-summer of 2002.
