The first stage of the Delphi project being fulfilled by the EU within the TACIS framework in Russia is over. The project's aim is to render assistance to Russian education establishments in development of educational programmes to train experts in the field of market economy. According to the EC representative in Moscow Ronan Mac Aongusa, 270 Russian and 67 foreign experts from 8 countries took part in the project materials' preparation. The project was carried out together with Russia's Education Ministry in St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Samara, the Republic of Komi, and Ekaterinburg. The project's budget totaled euro 6 million. The Russian side gauged the project's results as successful ones. According to Russian Education Ministry representative Alexei Talonov, the materials worked out within the project's framework "deserve attention from the viewpoint of their spreading in Russia's system of education." The TACIS program plans to resume the Delphi project on the territory of 6 Russian regions.
