Chechnya produces around 3,000 tons of oil daily, special representative of the Chechen Republic under the Russian President Adlan Magomadov declared at a press conference today. However, only six out of 40 oil wells are functioning now, he stressed. Gas and electricity are constantly supplied to all Chechen settlements. According to Magomadov, 222,000 tons of grain were harvested in the republic in 2001, which makes it possible to provide Chechen inhabitants with it. Next year, the republic is planning to harvest 250,000 tons of grain.
