On November 14 Russian Vice-Premier Viktor Khristenko will arrive in Baku to meet First Vice-Premier Abbas Abbasov of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani embassy in Moscow reported on Monday. Co-chairmen of the Russian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will discuss the two countries' cooperation in a number of fields. The sides are expected to consider a number of documents due to be signed in the course of an official visit by Azerbaijani President Geidar Aliyev to Moscow coming late in January 2002. These documents include a 10-year programme of economic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, an agreement on the status and joint exploitation of a Russian radar station on Azerbaijani territory and an agreement between border regions of the two states. In addition to that, the sides will discuss issues related to the transportation of Azerbaijani oil through Russia, Russia's participation in the TRASECA transportation project and documents on the legal status of Azerbaijanis living in Russia and Russians living in Azerbaijan.
