A new federal law, On the Position of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation, will outline spheres where they are banned to be employed, the RIA Novosti correspondent quotes State Duma deputy Boris Nadezhdin, who led the working group preparing this bill, as saying at a press conference. To him, bans will be spread to the civil service, secret facilities and positions where foreigners cannot be employed in keeping with the prohibitive sectoral codes. In addition, a ban for foreigners can be imposed on notary and lawyer activities. The law will also regulate the procedure for issuing visas, residence permits, quoting the number of foreign citizens which may work in the territory of the Russian Federation and other clauses regarding the foreign-citizen status. The new law intends the creation of a single data bank for registering foreign citizens in Russia.
