An anti-terrorism bureau will be set up under the Russian Interior Ministry's Main Department for the Fight against Organised Crime, Alexander Ovchinnikov, a ministerial official, told the press on Tuesday. He noted that all federal districts of Russia had already formed special anti-terrorism groups within each district's search bureaus. These groups will co-ordinate and carry out anti-terrorism activities by Interior Ministry bodies and Interior troops under the jurisdiction of the Russian Interior Ministry and run complex preventive and special operations. In addition to that, these groups will ensure interaction with other federal government bodies and state power bodies of the Russian Federation constituents, and with foreign law enforcers as well.
