Anatoly Kvashnin, chief of staff of the Russian Armed Forces, has ruled out a possibility that the Russian Army will get involved in the US-led operations in Afghanistan. "The military contingent /of Russia/ is not being involved in the operations /in Afghanistan/," the general said adding that Russian military advisors will not be sent to Afghanistan either. The Afghan military are good professionals, he said. The Russian general arrived in Brussels Tuesday for meetings of the Russia-NATO Joint Permanent Council and the Military Committee of the Euroatlantic Partnership Council.
