Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Hosts International Conference On Economic Development Of Sakhalin Region

The international conference, which opened on Wednesday in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, is devoted to the problems of the development of the Sakhalin region (Russia's Far East). The conference has been organised by the Union of Sakhalin Businessmen, the administration of the Sakhalin region and the international corporation Karana. Apart from representatives of the Russian business quarters, the conference is attended by foreign entrepreneurs, experts from the US international development agency, leading managers of oil and gas companies working on the Sakhalin sea shelf and Russian and foreign contractors of the international Sakhalin projects. The conference members plan to analyse the investment climate in the region, the most promising local economic projects and the personnel market.
