A car exploded on Friday morning in a Melbourne suburb of Glen Waverly showering debris across several streets. The explosion, which happened about 5 in the morning, did not cause any injuries. Owners of the car, a family of five, were asleep in the house at the time of explosion. Police evacuated 3 houses nearby while bomb squad experts investigated the scene. The media quote Senior Sergeant Tom Steele of the Victoria Police saying the authorities treat the incident as suspicious. Glen Waverley had problems with drug-dealing gangs attempting to operate in the neighbourhood recently.
