Despite the prohibition of navigation on the Amur river, many vessels of the Amur River Shipping Line joint-stock company transport cargos. As general director of AO Amur River Shipping Line Anatoly Sukhov told RIA Novosti on Monday, "today the motorship Sormovsky-40 left for a Chinese port to take cargos there, while the Omsky-115 motorship with cargos is going from Korean port Inchon to Sovetskaya Gavan (a Russian port on the Tatar Strait coast)". According to him, today 20 craft of the Shipping Line are engaged in the transportation of foreign-trade cargos between the unfreezing ports on the Pacific coast of Russia and the ports of Japan, China and the Republic of Korea. As the general director of the Shipping Line said, the navigation-2001 on the Amur was extremely difficult because of the unprecedentedly low levels of water in rivers. This notwithstanding, the plans of transportation and carrying of cargos to the northern districts of the Khabarovsk Territory have been fulfilled, he emphasized.
