Bridge Across Amu Darya To Be Opened On Uzbek-Afghan Border
A state commission is expected to make the decision to put into operation the bridge linking the banks of the Amu Darya river on the Uzbek-Afghan border, Uzbek President Islam Karimov was quoted as saying on Saturday. Islam Karimov emphasised that commissioning the bridge to link the town of Termez with the Afghan port of Hairaton is important not only from the economic point of view, but primarily, from the political one.
