The signing of a treaty on cooperation between the Latvian and Russian capitals in the sphere of nature protection is planned for Thursday. This will be done in the course of the visit to Riga by the Moscow delegation, headed by minister of the Moscow government Leonid Bochin. This will be a second document which will fill the framework agreement on cooperation between Moscow and Riga signed in December last year by Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov and Riga Mayor Gundars Boyars, with a new content. At that time the first treaty on cooperation in one of the spheres fixed in the agreement - the treaty on education - was also signed. The treaty on cooperation in nature protection, which is planned to be signed, provides for working out strategic plans for joint activity and putting into practice the projects in the sphere of environmental protection. The Moscow delegation will stay in Riga till January 12 and will familiarise itself with Riga's experience in reclaiming everyday waste and in sewage purification.
