The commission for political affairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will consider the situation in the Chechen republic of Russia at its meeting today. Head of the commission Lord Judd, who is also a co-chairman of the State Duma-PACE working group, will make a report on this issue. In addition, participants of the meeting will consider the situation in Belarus and the application for joining the Council of Europe submitted by Yugoslavia. Leonid Slutsky, a member of the LDPR faction, will represent the State Duma at this meeting.
