New Efes Brewery To Be Built In Rostov

Turkish brewery Efes began the construction of a new brewery in Rostov, which was expected for a year and half. Actually, the new brewery will replace the Coca-Cola Rostov Botlers factory. The fact that the new brewery will be built on the same street as its direct competitor, i.e. the Baltika brewery, makes the whole story spicy. Efes has already begun to restore facilities of Coca-Cola Botlers to make everything ready to establish brewing equipment there. The cost of Coca-Cola's facilities was estimated as equal to $40m. Thus, it will require only $40m in additional investments. The equipment that will be set up in the new brewery is not new and was purchased from Germany. It is now prepared for shipping to Russia. According to Sergey Stepovoy, who is responsible for the alcohol industry in the Rostov regional administration, the new Efes brewery is supposed to be launched in 2003, the Vremya Novostey newspaper wrote.
